Both teams started unbeaten although a win or draw would secure us the 2nd division league title and gain promotion to the 1st. After a long journey we arrived at Milton Keynes to a waterlogged and very greasy pitch, the home team's much larger and heavier pack dominated possession for most of the first half which the backs duly converted into points - we were 10-0 at half-time. In the second half roles were reversed, as MK's forwards tired in the mud ours took the game by the scruff of the neck and never let go which resulted in two unconverted tries and a penalty conversion. All who saw it were deeply impressed by the level of commitment, passion and skill displayed.
