This was a superb effort from all. We took a squad of 14 players, all got games and showed a real improvement from last weekend.
Our pool was disrupted somewhat due to no shows from other clubs but we still managed three games.
The first against Wootton Bassett started well with Archie Benson opening the proceedings, Bassett hit back with three quick tries to take the lead before an excellent late spell led to three more touch downs from Sean Ralph, Archie Benson’s second and Freddie Roberts leaving Stow 4 tries to 3 winners.
The second game against Abingdon again was close, Stow’s tries came Sean Ralph (2), Freddie Roberts and William Kelley. Abingdon could only muster three so Stow took the honours.
Their last pool game was against Chinnor, a very evenly balanced game saw Chinnor go two tries up before a second half revival levelled the game with touchdowns from Freddie Roberts and Giles King.
Although we qualified for the finals time was getting on and with the organisers struggling to make any sense of the knock out stages it was decided to run for home UNBEATEN!!!!!
